I was 15 years old, yes a teenaged girl with long dark black hair, olive sun kissed skin and the darkest brown eyes you would have ever looked into. I was born in New Zealand and moved to Australia, Queensland when I was very young and grew up on the sunny Gold Coast. I am the youngest of 4 girls with both my birth parents raising me, I am a Gemini, an extravert, loud and out spoken, driven and determined. I am the kind of spirit that lives on this earth yet drifts between taking risks and never settling down. I was 15 years old and then, currently in grade 10, I had become the girlfriend of a 16 year old, ashy blonde, blue eyed, olive skin, South African boy. Dylan had only been living in Australia for just over 12 months, He was the first child in his family, with only one younger sister, he too had both birth parents raising him. This matter was becoming extremely rare for our generation and I couldn't imagine how much it would increase, by the time I had children. After sometime of getting to know each other, I learnt that Dylan was an extremely loyal, respectful, quiet and yet incredibly driven man. Around the same time Dylan also learnt that I was just as loyal and respectful yet loud and spontaneous. We had many things in common and also were complete opposites in many aspects of our lives. I was raised to push boundaries, to overshare information and to always challenge people who didn't have the same thought pattern as me. Dylan was raised to never forget his culture, to thrive and achieve in any work environment and to process your thoughts and feelings within yourself. By now I can imagine your probably having a great laugh, because even though they say " opposites attract " these were very BIG opposites. Dylan and myself realised these flaws within ourselves very early on, which was extremely positive and yet was either the make or break for our relationship...
