AfterParty and AfterThoughts

Dylan and I walk through the massive crowd of people, proud parents and relieved teachers. We approach the arch doors and walk into a massive hall, with 10 round tumbles, decorations everywhere and an elegant photo booth in the corner. We locked our eyes with all our mates, said our hello's and joined the line for the room at the back to have our professional photos done. Dylan and I went up to the front, had a couple of photos with our families and they left us for the night. Dylan was feeling awkward and embarrassed, only because he genuinely enjoyed being the quiet guy in the corner of the room and that night I made him shine brighter than the stars. Dylan and I are standing in front of the photographer and as I turn to take a photo with Dylan, I see him down on one knee. Dylan proposed to me in front of our friends and family, He had been saving his money for months and months, in order to buy me a beautiful diamond ring. Little did I know, Dylan had asked my father for his blessing and showed my dad the ring he liked and got his advice. I know the whole asking 'her father for his blessing,' is a little dated and old school, however it was very important to my family and I cherish that Dylan kept to my families tradition. The ring was beautiful, it's a yellow gold, square shaped setting and there was also a single band to go with it, which was a promise ring. I always knew Dylan was a one in a million dude, I never expected him to go so extreme so outside of his comfort zone. I will never forget my formal night, not just because it was an incredible night but because Dylan committed such a selfless act. I can also genuinely say that everyday since that night Dylan has been the most loyal and selfless man towards me, and for that I count myself lucky everyday. This very moment was one of the most genuinely happiest moments, I have experienced in my life. The clock hit 11pm and all the awards had been handed out, the speeches had been given, and the teachers look of; 'high school sweet hearts, 🙄 are they kidding themselves?' came to an end. My Mama was waiting for Dylan and myself in the car park outside, we jumped in the car and was racing home to change our clothes. As we got in the car my mum had my sister Alaina on face time all ready to show my ring off to them! Oh God I couldn't stop starring at it 🤣. We race to get changed and are back in the car, on our way to the train station to meet the rest of our classmates and head to our After party. There was 3 massive 'coach buses,' parked and ready with blacked out windows, as we were not allowed to know the destination. Roughly 600 students piled into 3 different buses with most girls sitting on boys laps and everybody way too close together!! 😆. I had 6 mini bottles of wine in my bag and 8 cans of Jack Daniels pre mixed for Dylan. (Shhhh, he was legal but I wasn't 🤣) We walked off the bus and through some high covered up gates, we were in an industrial area and it was a huge empty factory. There was a couple of couches scattered around the property, a big square empty room on one side which had a DJ on the mezzanine level. All the way at the back and around the sides of the buildings there was some old, shitted up cars, someone was "going to work on" however none of those features mattered. It was massive and big enough to fit us all in, the DJ was cornered perfectly so that every tune he played, echoed throughout the entire property. 3 bathrooms in every corner, was mutely needed! as we all know underaged kids drinking, is definitely going to lead to many, many messy moments. The night was a huge eyes wide open moment for Dylan and myself, I drank one of my mini wines and Dylan got through two of jack Daniels. Our huge night of "celebrating our Engagement" changed very quickly, firstly one of our friends took something he shouldn't had and started foaming at the mouth. Thank god for Dylan's quick reactions, he had him on his side on the floor and shoved the hose down his throat until he was vomiting. Shortly after that I was taking one girl to the bathroom and helping her unbutton her shorts, one girl went missing upstairs and was way too drunk to know were she was or who she was with!. Couple of the kids had sex in front of everyone, there was bodies everywhere, passed out, too fucking high to move or on top of each other and couldn't keep their hands to themselves. The night was messy, lets just say that! the DJ played the song- Dont you worry child, by Sweedish House Mafia, and as he did one boy from our grade grabbed the microphone and yelled; "this is our song, this is our graduation song". It was slurred and sloppy, however I totally got the gesture he was trying to make, even now still to this day, that song comes on and Dylan and I look at each other and laugh. Remembering all these crazy, out of control moments that occurred that night, we are on the dance floor, jumping and wrapped in each others arms. On the dance floor we shared a moment of looking at one another, knowing we are the only two humans sober enough to remember this incredible night and that this moment was always going to mean more than what it did for everyone else. This moment ended very quickly, as our closest friend was about to be in the middle of a fight that seemed to start as another boy touched his girlfriend while she was dancing. Dylan is standing there in between our friend and some other guy, everyone is swearing and yelling. Lucky for us the two massive, tattooed security guards had become friends with us earlier on in the night as once again they were sober like us and was shocked the pair of us were sober! 😆 The security guards threw the boy out and told us to settle our mate, the bullshit and drama, calmed quickly and our night was able to continue. Before we knew it the sun came up, it was 6am and we had blisters on our feet, sweaty messy hair, make up missing in spots from not being able to, 'not' make out all night, and our drinks still full and unopened. Dylan and I were in our own worlds, we celebrated and indulged in one another, it didn't matter what happened around us, we were so wrapped. Wrapped up in one another, our eyes starred to nowhere but at each other, our minds knew we were destined for so much more than our current environment at that point. All I can say is, call me a freak, say i'm weird, but I believe in true love. I believe two souls can meet at some point in time and connect so deeply with another, that no matter what or who comes up to them, they just know, their two souls are made for one another and are made for so much more than most people can understand. Love, real love, deep love, raw love, is so truly incredible and I hope you all get to experience it, like I do, each and every day.... 🖤
